ABSTRACT
The rivers located in the Amazon are like natural roads and the most common vehicles are the boats, this mode of transport is considered more economical and less polluting when compared to other modes, especially road, however, despite the advantages of the waterways and the great potential of the Metropolitan Region Belém –RMB (Fig. 01),Only a little of its advantages have been taken from this mode of transport. When it comes to water transport in the Amazon, there is still much to be done by the public administrative action. Since the present river transport services continue to integrate the region are predominantly from the private sector, retaining the character of handmade craft and presenting traffic safety risks.
