ABSTRACT
Professor Arturo Pellegrino has spent his entire academic career at the Università di Napoli Federico II, mostly studying geotechnical problems of the Naples area and more generally of southern Italy. His main research activities were soil and soft rock characterization, slope movements and their understanding, and slope stabilization methods. This Lecture highlights some of his contributions and shows how his work has been and is still inspiring.
