ABSTRACT
It is not that small business development is uniform on the territory of all the regions of the VFD. The largest number of small businesses is concentrated in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Nizhny Novgorod region-about 6.4,000 companies in each region. The lowest rate in the district as per the number of small businesses and the number of their employees registered in the Republic of Mari El is less than 1,000 units. In total, the VFD smalland medium-sized businesses provide employment for more than 1.3 million inhabitants.
