ABSTRACT
Single-industry city as a form of population settlement can be revealed in many countries around the world. Their role is very significant, and the specifics of their origin and development determine complicated fate in modern society. Monocentric structure of city’s economy and strong dependency on its backbone enterprise lead to certain difficulties in the fate of cities of this type (Panasyuk et al 2013).
