ABSTRACT
The International English Language Testing System tests the English of people who do not speak it as their first language. The examination is jointly managed by University of Cambridge English for Speakers of Other Languages Examinations, the British Council and International Driving Permit Education Australia. Most hospitals have a postgraduate centre where details of educational meetings and talks will be advertised. District general hospitals, teaching hospitals and some larger general practitioner practices and health centres will have a medical library. These vary in size but are particularly useful, especially if there is a medical librarian. To summarise, international doctors with no aspirations of a career in medical academia, but who do want a higher qualification and enhanced understanding of research methods, would do well to add an Master of Science to qualifications gained while in the UK.
