ABSTRACT

As an overview, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is mostly an attitude of mind which has spawned a host of different techniques and approaches. It is an attitude that involves getting really curious, and wondering just how effective people get results. And wondering, too, just how healthcare professionals can change their world by expanding their possibilities, exploring new ways of thinking and enhancing what he/she already do well. In fact, most people in the NLP world eschewed evidence. By utilising NLP's accelerated-learning formats, healthcare professionals can more rapidly acquire, assimilate and spontaneously use these skills in everyday practice. The NLP approach sits very comfortably on the shoulders of all the past models of the consultation. It is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. It is a model of increased choice, of expanding possibilities, of enriching and cross-fertilising every field of enquiry.
