ABSTRACT

Travelling alone restored a sense of capability and independence to me. I was anonymous to everybody on that plane. No one knew that I had had cancer, I was just a young woman in a hat with a swollen face. Luckily my neighbour did not want to converse. I took a couple of sleeping pills and was awoken by the announcement that we would soon be arriving in Hong Kong.
