ABSTRACT

Introduction This chapter considers the gaps in the vocational training scheme as they have been identified by 39 newly qualified GPs. It also compares the ideas of 33 trainers and course organisers. Lastly, it examines how, if at all, these educational needs could influence the vocational training scheme curriculum. The work was carried out in the Oxford Deanery during 2001-2002, and although it was a local study covering four counties, the findings are reflected nationally.
