ABSTRACT

This chapter uses the case vignettes to explore in greater detail the practice approaches and skills that are most likely to contribute to successful collaboration and better short and longer term outcomes for parents and children. It touches on the broad approaches to practice and some of the methods and tools that are most frequently used. The referenced key texts are provided as a quick way into the approaches to their work of the health and social care practitioners a person is most likely to work with. The child protection conference concluded that it was necessary for Wayne Morton to be subject to a formal Child Protection Plan. The children's service decided that a legal planning meeting should help and they agreed that, in view of Wayne's age, the pre-proceedings process should be started to provide a contingency plan if the parents lapsed again.
