CAMs The term for therapists who practise complementary and alternative medicine (e.g. medical herbalism, aromatherapy, acupuncture). The tension between orthodox, allopathic medicine and the complementary therapies is easing as complementary therapies develop their evidence base and medicine becomes more open to the value of the CAM (complementary and alternative medicine) approach.
