ABSTRACT

Questions to consider before sending an email are: What am I trying to achieve by sending this email? Would a phone call or a face-to-face meeting be more appropriate than an email? Am I sending the email to too many people? Am I sending an email that I will later regret sending? The email should be brief and to the point. The language, style and tone used should be suitable for the target audience and their level of understanding of the subject. Abbreviations should be kept to a minimum. Things to avoid while sending email are: Sending an email with no subject; sending an email when you are very angry; Writing a very long email with big paragraphs; lots of spelling mistakes; and sending unnecessary emails.
