Presentational skills can be improved by rehearsing, making a good first impression, speaking confidently, sounding interesting, looking confident and by engaging with the audience. Some questions to consider before planning a presentation are as follows: What is the overall message to be delivered? How long is the presentation going to be? What is the main purpose of the presentation? and What is the most appropriate form and level of language for audience? Some presentational tips are: presentation should be rehearses several times so as to know it well, even without any visual aids; speaking clearly and at conversational speed; controlling audience by maintaining eye contact and by looking for and responding to signs of puzzlement or boredom; and leading up to concluding remarks by signposting the way.
