Talking to people we can trust, doing regular exercise and writing down our thoughts and feelings can help us all cope better with stress. Progressive muscle relaxation is another helpful technique. Regular physical activity can reduce some of the emotional intensity we are feeling, clear our thoughts and enable us to deal with our problems more calmly. Writing down our thoughts and feelings can help to get our thoughts and feelings from the inside to the outside and help us see our problems in a different way. Progressive muscle relaxation for stress relief involves a two-step process in which you systematically tense and relax different muscle groups in the body. With regular practice, progressive muscle relaxation helps us to understand what tension and complete relaxation feels like.
