ABSTRACT
Nothing is more important in healthcare than the people who are providing the service. Correction: the only thing more important than the people providing the service is that they never lose sight of who they are there for. This may sound like a truism, irritatingly obvious to people who give their all, working for the NHS. Sadly, the continuing witness of service users and carers belies this assumption.
