ABSTRACT

In many ways this book is probably unique, and it is certainly innovative. I have written it to enable the reader to appreciate issues that can arise when working with a person with an alcohol problem, and ways of responding. It is composed almost totally of dialogue between a fictitious client (Dave) and his counsellor (Alan), and between the counsellor and his supervisor (Jan). Within the dialogue are woven the reflective thoughts and feelings of the client, the counsellor and the supervisor.
