‘I’m making changes, but I’m having really low days as well. It’s like I’m feeling better, and I’m feeling worse.’ Carol sat in the chair in the counselling room, feeling somewhat bewildered by it all. She’d left the last session on something of a high, feeling positive, but it had been anything but a smooth week. She’d spent a lot of time with Lisa. She’d managed not to binge, but it had been hard, so very hard. She knew she’d used Lisa’s company a lot to distract herself, but she also wondered if that was really what she should be doing. Lisa, though, seemed OK with it. But she didn’t want to put strain on their relationship. Lisa was so supportive.
