ABSTRACT

The abstract that biomedical researchers submitted to the conference is already printed in the abstract book or on the conference compact disc. Do not repeat the abstract on researchers poster unless the conference guidelines ask them to. It is not compulsory to have an introduction section on a poster. This section could also be called 'Background' or even something more informal such as 'The problem' or 'Why such-and-such is needed'. Do not use the introduction section to demonstrate that they know the entire literature. Only add references that are directly relevant to the points that are making. As the objective is a very important element of poster, consider using large, bold type or putting the text into a coloured box. If poster describes the use of several experimental methods to address the same objective, make it clear which method is which. Divide the text using subheadings.
