ABSTRACT

In addition to the title, authors and main content with its figures and tables, biomedical researchers may want to include certain additional elements, such as references, acknowledgements and conflict of interest statements. This chapter shows how to put these 'bits and pieces' into biomedical researchers' poster without distracting their readers or wasting precious space. All scientists are trained to reference documents, so the temptation is to sneak in a few references or add a further reading list. It is really boring to type, edit and proofread references. However, biomedical researchers' attention to detail might come into question if their references are full of typographical errors and different formats. It is important to mention people and organisations that have supported biomedical researchers in the research reported in their poster. It is most likely that biomedical researchers will need to acknowledge the funding that they have received from the state, a charity or a commercial company.
