ABSTRACT

Power Point scientific poster templates are available, and these can be adapted to suit most needs. Unless biomedical researchers are particularly adept at graphic design, they will usually give a more professional result than trying to make all the decisions yourself about matters such as columns, fonts and colours. It is completely acceptable to design biomedical researchers' own poster layout using any standard design software. However, they should follow the principles laid out for good poster design. Many websites provide Power Point poster templates. In most PowerPoint poster templates, columns are set up using drawing guides, and then text boxes are placed within the guidelines. Most templates are created using a layout with columns. In general, landscape posters work best with three or four columns and portrait posters suit two or three. If biomedical researchers enjoy layout and design, they may choose to make poster stand out from the crowd by creating a unique design, perhaps without columns.
