ABSTRACT
EPILEPSY • A 32-year-old Caucasian man. • He was taken to the police station by the police under Section 136 of
the Mental Health Act 1983. • A 10-year history of resistant temporal lobe epilepsy (complex partial
seizures). • He presented with threatening to kill his mother with a kitchen knife
because of the persistent delusion that she was in communication with aliens who were collaborating with her to kill him.
