ABSTRACT

Defining Terms Let us be clear about a few definitions. Feedback, a term that Kurt Lewin originally adopted from rocket science in the 1940s, is information that lets people know where they are in relation to the goals towards which they are striving.1 In practice, feedback is information that is shared with a learner about how a particular behavior is contributing to his or her achieving a desired goal. A goal is a global statement that describes the desired outcome of the rotation in terms of its effects on the learner. Objectives are specific statements that delineate the knowledge, skills and attitudes that must be acquired in order to achieve a goal.2
