ABSTRACT
Setting the scene Vicky had been a normal healthy child, the eldest of four, until 18 months ago at the age of 8 years she was run over on the way home from Brownies. A van had careered out of control and knocked her down on the pavement. Three of her friends were also injured, and the baby sister of one of her friends died at the scene.
