ABSTRACT

The first myth to dispel is that one needs to be a distinction student with a string of academic prizes and publications to people's name in order to land a top job. When thinking about job applications, a few documents deserve a quick glance. Obviously the form itself is key. It may be subject to change from year to year, so make sure that one gets their hands on the most upto-date version. It is likely that all of the job applications one makes throughout his/her life will place emphasis on some of the same themes - teamwork, leadership and outstanding achievements. However, no matter what questions are asked of one, the beauty of the Foundation Programme application form is that it is eminently flexible. In a year group of 300 students, for example, only a handful can boast consistent distinctions or winning top-of-the-year prizes.
