ABSTRACT

Stress is a normal healthy part of everyday life. It is the result of interactive

behaviour between people and their environment and it is a unique experience

for the individual. A situation that is stressful for one person can be a positive

experience for another. It is a basic human instinct and reaction, a defence mechanism

against harm and a survival tool. The stress response prepares the body for physical

activity. It is defined as a state we experience when there is a disparity between

how we view demands and how we think we can cope with their expectations.
