ABSTRACT
Introduction This chapter encourages an exploration of the coagulation cascade, provides a review of traditional methods of anticoagulation during haemodialysis, and offers the opportunity to assess alternatives to the prevention of coagulation in the extracorporeal circuit during dialysis.
