ABSTRACT
This chapter encompasses managing, analysing and interpreting information, knowledge and statistics, and describes public health surveillance and monitoring, and interpretation of patterns in parameters that reflect the health status of a population. It uses examples from a profile document developed to describe the impact of coronary heart disease on the health of a population to illustrate points about information availability, quality and analysis.
