ABSTRACT
The majority of human beings are born with a single pre-determined gender-specific sexual orientation, and possess within the orientation preferences such as age, build, hair colour, and eye colour. Sexual orientation is psychological. It is one’s preference of the gender, age range and physical appearance of another, to which one is emotionally attracted and sexually aroused. In society, it is unacceptable for anyone, adult or child, to have a sexual orientation towards children. Chronophilia is not related in any way to paedophilia, hebephilia, ephebophilia, gerontophilia or teleiophilia as individuals who possess the sexual orientations have congruent physical and sexuoerotic ages and generally have a preference for people of a different physical age. Although only a small number, a proportion of adult women have a sexual orientation towards children; such women invariably sexually abuse their own children. In the vast majority of known cases, paedophiles and hebephiles are males who are drawn towards female children.
