ABSTRACT
Learning to consult requires an understanding of the principles of medical ethics and how ethics can be applied practically when consulting. Different phrases are used by different people in relation to ethics, such as : medical ethics, healthcare ethics, bioethics and values in medicine . The first task of this chapter is therefore to define ethics which for many healthcare professionals is a new way of thinking and the importance of which in training has recently been acknowledged and included in medical curricula .
