ABSTRACT
Teaching the consultation can take place in many situations - in hospitals, the community and the university. Teaching may be theoretical or practical using simulated or real patients. Different methods of teaching can be utilised. One skill that is being actively encouraged more frequently for both undergraduates and qualified practitioners is that of lifelong learning.
