ABSTRACT

Oliver got up and went over to Graham, putting his hand on his shoulder, and giving it a gentle but firm squeeze. Graham lifted his hand and gripped hold of Oliver’s hand. The moment passed and the tears flowed, tears locked away for ten years or more. T didn’t know what to do.’ As he spoke the words another wave of emotion hit Graham and his eyes streamed once again, hot tears of pain and frustration. He sniffed and swallowed, and released his grip on Oliver’s hand. Oliver reached over for the tissues and handed them to Graham. ‘Thanks. Oh sweet Jesus . . . ’, and another wave of feelings rose up through his body and again filled his eyes with tears. He felt hot, he was burning up. He swallowed again as he felt the wave pass. It was like being amongst waves on a beach, waves of emotion, all bottled up and forcing their way out.
