ABSTRACT
It defines global health as being about the issues which affect the health of us all wherever we live and describes how health needs and the wider environment are changing globally.
The chapter sets out the challenges presented by: increased global interdependence; the need to address health within a wider social, economic and political context; the importance of achieving the right to health for everyone; and the difficulties of turning policy into meaningful action, quality health care and improved health.
