ABSTRACT
Within the retail industry a percentage of regional, district, and store managers have not received any type of formal loss prevention training. Additional store employees who have never received any type of loss prevention training are general employees or cashiers. The lack of training issue is also a problem for those working in franchisee types of operations. Since a majority of franchise operations consist of franchisees owning from one to several retail stores, they have no formal internal operation to create a training program.
