Schooling and educational systems are stressful for many children. Some children fi nd it diffi cult to cope with the standards demanded by the system and the rising expectations of parents. Consequently, the failure to meet the expected standards in school results in stress, ridicule for the child, and anxiety, and pressure for concerned parents. There are many causes for below-average performance of children in school. This chapter focuses on learning disability and related issues.
