ABSTRACT
Obtain as full a history as possible from ambulance crew, witnesses or relatives, as well as the patient. A useful mnemonic for remembering the components in the history is AMPLE (see Table 5.2). Make sure an ongoing record is kept of all vital signs, clinical findings, and investigation results, and keep re-examining the patient regularly.
