ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION The discussion so far has focused on study design and descriptive statistics. In particular, we have seen how a sample can be drawn from a population and looked at some ways in which the data can be presented. Another important aspect of statistics, however, is that of making deductions (inferences) about populations using the information derived from a sample.
