ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION In Chapter 11 we considered the comparison of means from two independent groups, and the comparison of two proportions was explained in Chapter 12. The previous chapter also showed how the chi-squared test for two-way tables can be extended to the case of comparing proportions from three or more groups. This raises the question of how means from three or more independent groups can be compared, the subject now to be addressed.
