ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we shall survey the various contributions made to Ω by baryonic matter, dark matter (looking at the evidence for its existence) and the cosmological constant (as discovered by supernova measurements). Several lines of independent research have all converged on essentially the same recipe for the universe, leading to Ω = 1.
