ABSTRACT
All individuals with Down’s syndrome (trisomy 21) will develop AD aer the age of 40 due to the lifelong overexpression of APP located on chromosome 21, which encodes the amyloid precursor protein. e neuropathologic hallmarks of AD presumably are due to the APP gene.
