Contracted and subcontracted staff are mandated and legally obligated to do everything stipulated in a contract. Most often, the in-house staff take pride in their work and realize they have a daily stake in the quality of work they perform as it will affect every aspect of their work in that facility. Facility managers should always check previous contracts and seek advice on designing contracts before they engage a contractor and sign the contract to avoid missing something important that could wind up costing the budget extra money for something that should have been included. Facility managers must then engage professional repair and cleanup services that will come in and clean and/or repair serious damage. Facility managers must have the types of companies listed for such quick service with preestablished relationships to try to get priority service when it is needed.
