ABSTRACT

For the purposes of this book, we will be using Unreal Launcher, version 2.11, and Unreal Engine 4, version 4.11 (this should not be confused with version 4.1). When first opening Unreal, you will be presented with the Unreal Launcher. The Launcher is a quick-access hub to all of your projects, along with links to many other helpful tools. The launcher is broken into two sections. On the left is a navigation tab. The launch button is at the top and is highlighted in a light orange. On the right side of the launch button there is a down arrow that gives you access to all versions of Unreal currently installed. Below the launch button are some quick links to key elements in the launcher, which include community, learn, marketplace, and library. On the right-hand side, you have the info panel, which displays content based on the quick link you have selected. A quick glance at the following figure shows the current launcher version with the Learn link opened.
