ABSTRACT
The steps one must take to develop a new design concept and work it through to maturity are described by the term ‘systems development life cycle (SDLC) model’. These steps were rst formalised for the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, but in recent years, formalised design process steps have been adopted and adapted by designers in other elds, including architects, engineers and business work process designers.
