ABSTRACT

Here is a simple grid of the various response combinations (see Figure 4.1) that shows quite clearly where the work needs to be done. Groups 1 and 2 do not currently rate the importance of changing very highly so it is unlikely to happen. In Group 3, perceived importance is high though confi dence is low. What they need is an effective strategy for change which they believe can work for them, thus increasing their perceived self-effi cacy. This is a similar situation in Group 1 also, though for them it may be of more value to work on increasing importance fi rst.
