ABSTRACT

Billy was in a full-time special needs nursery, very nice but no real progress. He appeared to find the world around him such a confusing and frustrating place, but remained a sweet and loving little boy. A bonus was to find out people could access one of the world's leading paediatric neurologists at Miami Children's Hospital. The epilepsy stayed with people of course, and was never easy, although for the most part he was kept out of the hospital. There always had to be a back-up plan in case he had a bad day, so that Ellen's disruption was kept to a minimum, but she really didn't know any different anyway. Ellen had been the youngest child, then the middle, was she the eldest? She yearned to be one of three again, but only if Billy was one of them. One night she dreamt of her big brother, he was happy and smiling and talking in a deep voice.
