ABSTRACT
Pyrexia of unknown origin (PUO) – diagnostic features:
1 Illness of at least three weeks’ duration.
2 Fever over 38.3°C/100.94°F on several occasions.
3 Diagnosis has not been made after three outpatient visits or three days of hospitalisation.
