ABSTRACT

Various combinations of psychological and physical manifestations of anxiety, not attributable to real danger and occurring as a persisting state. Other neurotic features may be present (obsessional symptoms) but do not dominate the clinical picture. GAD is a long-term illness (minimum six months’ symptoms) which is likely to require long-term treatment.
