ABSTRACT

Ten years later we have a growing number of e-learning resources for general practitioners. BMJ Learning is just one of those resources. Is there any reason to think that is special? Is it truly driven by the needs of learners? Certainly it covers a broad range of topics (both clinical and non-clinical), it enables you to link your needs assessments with your personal and professional development plan and then with learning resources and so does live up to its name in that regard as 'a one-stop shop for e-learning'. It is also strongly evidence-based and takes its evidence from Clinical Evidence - a compendium of evidence-based practice in the

UK.2 Its content is also updated every year and finally it has a lot of feedback which is published on the live site and which enables the learners and teachers to see what everyone's learning needs are and thus allows us - the editors - to try to meet those needs.
