ABSTRACT

Most of the measures cover an aspect of a child’s, parent’s or family’s functioning, so there is advantage in using several measures together. The shorter measures are gener ally more acceptable to clients if several are to be used. Most of these checklist measures do not require special training for their administration as they are self-administered checklist-type questionnaires. However, care should be taken in the interpretation of results, and they should not be used as a substitute for a comprehensive assessment and consulta tion with professionals from other disciplines where this is appropriate.
