ABSTRACT
Introduction This chapter divides comparative health research studies into eight categor ies and gives examples of studies within each category. The purposes of the chapter are threefold: to give an idea of the range of subjects and methods, to show what we can learn from comparative studies carried out by other disciplines into subjects with which we may not be familiar, and to highlight some of the strengths and weaknesses of comparative health research.
