ABSTRACT
Introduction Primary care is constantly changing and evolving, and over the past two decades the pace of change has accelerated. There have been two new general practice contracts since 1990, and new frameworks have been set out for the delivery of patient care. Because of a shift from the focus on secondary care, more work is now being done in the primary healthcare setting.
