ABSTRACT
Introduction The National Health Service (NHS) provides doctors and dentists with very good benefits under the General Whitley Council Conditions of Service.1 Dental and medical practitioners working in primary care within the NHS (NHS practition ers) also have access to benefits, although there are some differences. It is particularly important that doctors and dentists who are working flexibly or parttime, or both, are aware of the rules and regulations of NHS benefits to help them plan their future.
